Founder's Message
My name is Coach John, and I founded MatchReady because girls soccer in America is pricing players out of their dreams. The game has simply gotten too expensive, and that needs to change.
I’ve been coaching since I was 13, and before I graduated high school, I was the youngest youth academy coach in the country. Today, I coach in Colorado, which many people believe to be the epicenter of women’s soccer in the world. In 2024, the Ballon d'Or Féminin recognized three Americans in the Top 10 of the best women's soccer players on the planet... all three of them were from Colorado and currently play for the U.S. Women’s National Team. Every week, I work with players chasing the dream of becoming a part of that roster.
But here’s the hard truth: girls soccer in America is a maze. Players succeed in spite of the system, not because of it. And the biggest barrier is cost. If a player starts elite soccer at age 12, her parents will likely invest over $100,000 by the time she graduates. Every year, future stars are priced out of the sport, and it's not because they lack talent or drive, but because they can’t afford the game or justify its costs.
MatchReady won’t fix the system overnight. But here’s what we can offer right now:
-
Free soccer for those who play.
-
Financial matching for those who need.
-
Sponsored development for those who thrive.
This way, girls can keep chasing their dreams without being priced out of the game.
Our promise is simple: We will never become part of the problem. If you’re a parent currently paying for your daughter’s soccer, you're welcome to donate, but that's not our fundraising focus. Soccer is already expensive enough. Instead, we invite you to share our mission with others who might be inspired to support it so we can support you.
Thank you for believing in what we’re building. Together, we can make sure the game stays accessible to every girl who is excited about her future in the sport.
See you on the fields!
Coach John
